The Fable of the Rampart
In the manner of Jean de la Fontaine
In everyday life,
It is a right that must be cherished,
A bulwark against the looks,
A treasure that must be preserved.
Like a wild animal,
Our privacy must be protected,
Curious people, snitches,
Inquisitors, snoopers.
Because without her, we are nothing,
Beings subject to the whims of others,
Without freedom, without privacy,
Without love, without happiness.
Like a fragile little bird,
Our privacy must be protected,
From the greedy glances of predators,
Sharp beaks of birds of prey.
For without it, we are only prey,
Beings crushed by the passions of others,
Without hope, without joy, Without dignity, without strength.
Thus, the protection of privacy,
Is a duty, a necessity,
So that we can be free,
So that we can be happy.
Like a treasure buried in the ground,
Our privacy must be preserved,
From the greedy hands of gold diggers,
Envious looks from false friends.
Because without it, we are only objects,
Beings subject to the interests of others,
Without personality, without project,
Without future, without hope.
So let's protect our privacy,
With prudence, with wisdom,
So that it allows us to live,
In harmony with ourselves, in all nobility.
